Just recently a cat showed up at a local car dealership, one that is south of the mall off of Johnston St., a very friendly cat. The manager of this place was concerned that this cat would be harmed or even killed by the cars coming and going, so he did what he could to keep the cat away from the traffic during the day and felt that this cat could hide safely at night. All the while feeding him to make sure that he did not go hungry. This has happened several times within the last few months, so the wife of the manager contacted our local animal rescue group and asked for help. The vet that checked the cat said that both of his ears were either cut off, or burned off, he had what looked like blisters along his nose and above both eyes. On his body were scrapes and cuts, and for some reason he had been completely shaved. Upon further inspection this cat had also endured being declawed on all 4 paws. This was, at one time, someone’s pet but for some reason was either dropped off or put out to fend for himself. How could someone do this to a poor animal?? This is just one story that we are
sharing with you. We were able to save this cat only because someone decided
to open their heart and home to give him a safe place in which to recover.
There are so many homeless pets that need a safe place in which to recover
or just to be loved until they are placed in a permanent, loving home.
This cat is safe now, but there are so many others out there that have
no place to safely rest or call home.
