Local veterinarians performed the surgeries, which began around 8:30am and continued non-stop until 2pm or so.
We would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all the people that worked tirelessly on the Rig, the local vets that found time to help with the surgeries, the restaurants that donated fantastic food and drinks for the breakfasts and lunches, and the numerous behind the scene volunteers that made it all happen. Last, but not least, we say THANK YOU to all the cat owners, cat caregivers, and feral colony managers.   982 cats is quite an impressive number.  It’s a very small step towards controlling cat overpopulation in the Acadiana area, but it was a great beginning.
Thank You, Barbara and Peter
Since the AHS torch has been passed to Sue Rabeaux, we would like to take this time to acknowledge the dedication and efforts that Barbara and Peter Borneman have put forth as the heart and soul of AHS these past few years. If all the homeless dogs and cats that came through AHS's doors could speak, we know that all of them would personally thank Barbara and Peter for helping them find their furever homes.   On behalf of all these pets and their foster parents, we say THANK YOU Barbara and Peter!
