Santa Pawz Is December 2
| Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 2, 2006. That's
when your dog or cat will have their chance to sit on Santa's lap at Petsmart
and tell him what they want for Christmas while AHS will take their portraits!
The portrait package is $8.95 with your Petsmart Perk
card and includes 2 photos with frames.
Petsmart will donate $5.00 to AHS for every package sold.
Last year, we hit a record 130 pets that had their photo taken with Santa.
Please come out on December 2 and help us hit the 200 mark! |

The "Big Fix" Rig
 |
This past July, Barbara Borneman and Diana Terry of AHS
and Sue Rabeaux of Sue’s Cat Ranch brought 37 cats and kittens to St. Bernard
parish to be spayed and neutered at “The Big Fix Rig.”
The brainchild of the Humane Alliance of Asheville, North
Carolina, the Big Fix Rig is a 53 foot trailer-mobile stationary clinic,
designed to move to communities in need nationwide and accommodate 120+
feline sterilizations a day.
|
Humane Alliance provides oversight and ownership of the Big
Fix Rig, but when the Rig is in a community, the lead organization in the
community is responsible for finding veterinarians and staff to work, handle
scheduling, and promotion of the Rig.
