No matter where you live or what you are able to physically do, you can help the survivors by donating to the hurricane relief effort. Any monies raised will go to help those animals and animal rescue organizations affected by the disaster.  Since many shelters,  animal sanctuaries, and placement groups network through Petfinder.com, a Hurricane Fund has been set up by Petfinder for tax deductible donations which will go towards shelters and animal placement groups affected by Hurricane Katrina.  At this time, they are also providing intensive details on search and rescue efforts throughout all of New Orleans, Mississippi and Alabama for pets.  For ongoing updates and information, visit the Petfinders website at http://www.Petfinder.com.

Three separate garage sales were held on June 4, July 2, and July 16 to benefit AHS.  Many heartfelt thank yous to the wonderful volunteers who coordinated these garage sales, to those who helped with the publicity, to those who donated items, and to those who purchased items at each sale!  All proceeds go towards the medical expenses and the well being of the animals in our foster care until such time that they find their forever home!
 
 

This past May, the AHS website underwent a major makeover and emerged with a sparkling new look, thanks to one of our newest volunteers, Lynn Kupfer.
